International Qiraat Virtual Competition Showcases Global Talent

Faisalabad: The Department of Islamic Studies, in collaboration with the Islamic Philosophic Society, hosted the International Qiraat Virtual Competition, bringing together Qaris from India, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Egypt, and various regions of Pakistan. This event highlighted the profound and melodious recitations of the Holy Quran by participants across the globe.

According to The University of Faisalabad announcement issued on 10 October 2024, the competition was judged by a panel of esteemed figures, including Chief Judge Al Sheikh Al Qari Mustafa Ahmad Elgendi from Egypt, alongside judges Al Sheikh Al Qari Hassan Raza from Egypt, and Dr. Al Hafiz Al Qari Muhammad Asif Raza from Pakistan. Highlights of the event included captivating recitations by Qari Hassan Raza and an emotionally charged performance by Al Sheikh Mustafa, both of which resonated deeply with the audience.

The competition was fiercely contested, resulting in Mr. Muhammad Shoaib from the National University of Modern Languages, Multan, securing first place. Mr. Khzaima Shakir from Government College University, Lahore, took second place, and Mr. Sardar Inaam Ullah Khan from Minhaj University, Lahore, came in third. The winners were honored with cash prizes for their exceptional skills in Qiraat.

Dr. Muhammad Zaid Ahmad, an assistant professor from King Saud University, Saudi Arabia, contributed further depth to the event by sharing his extensive knowledge on Islamic studies with the attendees. The event concluded with the distribution of souvenirs to the guests, celebrating their contributions and the unifying spirit of the competition.
