Indian Troops Detain Six Youths in Pulwama, Citing Activism


Srinagar: Six youths were arrested by Indian troops in the Pulwama district of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, amid ongoing tensions in the region.



According to Kashmir Media Service, the arrests were carried out by personnel from the Rashtriya Rifles and Central Reserve Police Forces during cordon and search operations and house raids in the Awantipora area. The police have described the detainees as activists involved in the region’s freedom struggle, framing these arrests as part of security measures.



Such detentions are frequently reported under various pretexts, reflecting the continuing strife in the area.
