Islamabad, The International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI), in collaboration with the Parliamentarians Commission for Human Rights (PCHR), is set to host a significant program titled “Freedom, Equality and Justice for All” on December 12th. This event aligns with the global theme for 2023, “Unite! Invest to prevent violence against women and girls,” and will take place at the university’s new campus. The program is expected to draw senior judges, prominent media personalities, women’s rights activists, and noted politicians.
According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the event will commence at 2 PM in front of the administration block, where a large number of students and university officials will gather to participate in this campaign against gender-based violence. The program will feature the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Human Rights and Women Empowerment, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, senior judges, journalist Mr. Hamid Mir, human rights activist Shehzad Roy, and other influential figures.
A preparatory meeting was conducted on Thursday to coordinate the event’s arrangements, chaired by the Students Advisor Male, Dr. Hafiz Ghufran Ali Khan. Director Administration Inam ul Haq, the female students advisor, and other relevant officials also attended. Various committees were formed, and tasks were assigned to ensure the smooth execution of the program. A follow-up meeting is scheduled for Friday to finalize the preparations.
The event at IIUI is a part of a broader effort to raise awareness and take actionable steps towards preventing violence against women and girls, emphasizing the critical themes of freedom, equality, and justice.
