IIUI Hosts “INNOVATEU-2024” Conference on Emerging IT Technologies

Islamabad, The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) recently hosted a forward-thinking conference titled “INNOVATEU-2024: Empowering Tomorrow: Navigating the Intersection of Emerging IT Technologies”. This event, organized by the Directorate of Students Affairs (DSA), Female Campus, and the Faculty of Computing and IT, in collaboration with the Office of Research Integration and Commercialization (ORIC), took place at the Quaid-e-Azam Auditorium, Faisal Masjid Campus of the university.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the conference aimed to prepare students for the rapidly evolving technological landscape, offering insights into cutting-edge fields such as AI, machine learning, blockchain, and cybersecurity. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Vice President (Research and Enterprise) at IIUI, emphasized the importance of such gatherings in equipping the next generation of IT leaders with the necessary tools to face future challenges.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asmat Ullah Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and IT, described the conference as a transformative event that provided students with the opportunity to engage in dialogue with experts, thereby paving the way for a tech-driven future. Dr. Sadia Saleem Cheema, Students Advisor, highlighted the significance of information technology in today’s world and the conference’s role in unlocking promising IT career paths for students through vibrant and immersive learning experiences.

The conference featured a range of speakers, including Mr. Barken Saeed, Dr. Naveed Baqir, Mr. Ali Zain, and Dr. Kashif Kifayat, who covered topics such as the critical skills needed in the market, the trends in AI and machine learning across multidisciplinary fields, blockchain technology applications, and the modern technological landscape of cybersecurity. Panel discussions also explored entrepreneurship, career paths, and job market readiness.

The event was well-attended by senior faculty members and a large number of students from the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, demonstrating IIUI’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and industry engagement among its students in the field of emerging technologies.
