IIUI Convenes Fourth Institutional Quality Circle Meeting to Prepare for Performance Review

Islamabad: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) recently held its fourth Institutional Quality Circle (IQC) meeting to evaluate quality assurance initiatives ahead of an Institutional Performance Review (IPR) by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Led by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Vice President (Research and Enterprise), the meeting aimed to ensure preparedness and alignment with HEC standards.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the IQC is a collaborative forum that includes key university stakeholders such as deans, directors, vice presidents, and representatives from both academic and administrative units. The meeting marked the completion of the annual quality assurance cycle, aligning with HEC's governance policies, which require quarterly IQC meetings. Participants assessed progress from previous meetings, examined reports, and outlined strategies for the upcoming year to enhance institutional readiness.

A significant portion of the discussion focused on the upcoming IPR visit, stressing the need for robust departmental coordination and stakeholder engagement. A structured mock review, aligned with HEC expectations, is planned, with results to be reviewed in a special IQC session. The meeting also saw the formal approval of IIUI's Quality Policy (Version 1.0), which supports a student-centered approach and aligns with national standards.

The discussions highlighted evolving quality assurance directions in Pakistan's higher education sector, emphasizing measurable impact and institutional ownership. The IQC meeting underscored the importance of continuous quality improvement and institutional accountability, reaffirming IIUI's commitment to advancing academic excellence, research, and governance.
