Hafiz Naeemur Rahman Outlines New Direction for Jamaat-e-Islami at Mansurah Ceremony

Mansurah, In a ceremony attended by thousands, Hafiz Naeemur Rahman was inaugurated as the new Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, announcing a comprehensive movement against government practices he deemed detrimental to democracy. The event, held in Mansurah, was marked by calls for unity among like-minded parties and a staunch stance on national and regional issues, including Kashmir and relations with India and the United States.

According to Jamaat-E-Islami Pakistan, Rahman criticized the current democratic process and declared the establishment of a major movement to correct what he described as a misapplication of democracy in Pakistan. He emphasized the need for all institutions and individuals to adhere strictly to the constitution, advocating for political resistance against constitutional violations. The event echoed with slogans as Rahman laid out plans for protests and initiatives intended to mobilize support across various societal sectors.

Rahman detailed an agenda that includes enhancing educational opportunities for over one million children through the “Bano Qal Program,” advocating for women’s rights, and addressing the economic challenges posed by foreign and domestic policies, such as the halted Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project. He criticized the influence of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the unequal distribution of resources, expressing a commitment to relieving small farmers and the general populace from economic pressures.

The ceremony also served as a platform for Rahman to honor the legacy of past leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami and to reiterate the party’s openness to all Pakistanis who wish to contribute to the country’s betterment devoid of sectarian and linguistic divisions. The new Ameer declared an unwavering resolve to confront the system of electables and landlords that he claimed has long held the country hostage.
