Islamabad: On Kashmir Solidarity Day, First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari paid tribute to the resilience of Kashmiri women and youth living under occupation, reaffirming Pakistan's solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and their right to self-determination.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, the First Lady highlighted the suffering and strength of Kashmiri women, stating that they stand at the forefront of the ongoing conflict over fundamental rights. She emphasized the challenges they face, including mass graves and enforced silence through violence, while acknowledging their leadership in resisting the occupation.
The First Lady expressed concern over the human rights situation in IIOJK, with particular focus on its impact on women and children. She noted the enduring hardships faced by children growing up in the region.
Addressing Kashmiri youth, Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari recognized their crucial role in the freedom movement and encouraged them to remain hopeful. She assured them of continued support from Pakistani youth on an international level.
She also recalled the origin of Kashmir Solidarity Day, initiated by her mother, Benazir Bhutto, 36 years ago, and reiterated Pakistan's ongoing support for the Kashmiri struggle.
The First Lady urged the international community and the United Nations to fulfill their commitments regarding Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing that lasting peace in South Asia is contingent upon a just resolution in line with the Kashmiri people's aspirations.
