Islamabad: In a formal ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr, the envoys of Kyrgyz Republic, State of Palestine, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Uzbekistan, Kenya, and Republic of Turkiye presented their diplomatic credentials to President Asif Ali Zardari. The credential ceremony, held on October 28, 2024, marked an official step in establishing or furthering diplomatic relations with Pakistan.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party announcement issued on 28 October 2024, the President received credentials from Ambassador-designate Avazbek Atakhanov of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ambassador-designate Dr. Zuhair Mohammad Hamdallah Zaid of the State of Palestine, Ambassador-designate Choe Chang Man of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Ambassador-designate Alisher Tukhtaey of Uzbekistan, High Commissioner-designate Lt Gen (Retd) Peter Mbogo Njiru of Kenya, and Ambassador-designate Irfan Neziroglu of Turkiye. Following the formalities, each envoy held a separate meeting with President Zardari.
In welcoming the envoys, President Zardari congratulated them on their appointments and expressed optimism for strengthening bilateral relations in trade, economy, and cultural exchange. He conveyed Pakistan’s commitment to nurturing mutually beneficial ties with each of the represented nations.
Upon arrival, the envoys were honored with a ceremonial guard of honor by a contingent of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
