Child Abduction Rumors in Karachi Debunked by Roshni Helpline

KARACHI: Roshni Helpline 1138, a child protection organization, has addressed recent rumors about child abductions in Karachi, announcing that these reports are unsubstantiated and urging the public to disregard them.

According to a statement by Roshni Helpline, Muhammad Ali, the organization’s head, highlighted that certain individuals have amplified instances of missing children to incite fear. “These incidents are not abductions,” he clarified, noting that their team has been working to locate and reunite the children with their families.

The organization provided details on five cases that had been misreported as abductions. Brothers Shiraz and Arbaz went missing from Metroville Site Area but were found 24 hours later at a relative’s home. Ayan, a 10-year-old from Orangi Town with a mental disability, was located after three days in Clifton. Muhammad Mubashir, a 14-year-old student, was reunited with his family after contacting them following a 10-day absence. Abdul Rahman from Frontier Colony, also with a mental disability, was safely returned home after being missing for five days.

Ali stressed the importance of maintaining public trust in law enforcement, noting that spreading rumors undermines police efforts and causes unnecessary panic. He encouraged parents to remain vigilant and to verify any abduction claims with authorities or Roshni Helpline.

Roshni Helpline continues to serve as a reliable resource for families, available around the clock to assist with missing child cases. The public is urged to contact the helpline immediately for any suspected abductions.
