Chief Minister Punjab Baseball League Kicks Off in Lahore with Inaugural Pitch by Education Minister


Lahore, Pakistan’s first Chief Minister Punjab Baseball League, a groundbreaking initiative under the global sports partnership, was inaugurated at the Foreman Christian College Baseball Ground in Lahore. The event, marked by the ceremonial first pitch thrown by Punjab’s Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, heralds a new chapter in the promotion and development of baseball in the region.



According to Pakistan Federation Baseball, the inauguration featured a vibrant ceremony attended by teams, officials, and guests, including foreign coaches and the founder of the Global Sports Partner (GSP). The event began with the playing of the National Anthem and the introduction of the teams to Minister Hayat, who also announced the Punjab government’s initiative to construct separate baseball grounds for men and women in educational institutions, further bolstering the sport’s infrastructure.



During the ceremony, Minister Hayat expressed admiration for the baseball facilities at Foreman Christian College and recognized the efforts of Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, Secretary of Pakistan Federation Baseball, and the GSP in fostering baseball’s growth in Pakistan. The event also saw the presence of several dignitaries, including the Rector of FC College Dr. Jonathan Adleton, and executives from the Pakistan Federation Baseball.



The league commenced with exciting matches where the Faisalabad Falcons secured narrow victories against the Lahore Lions in both the men’s and women’s categories, each by a score of 5-6.
