Karachi: Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has reiterated his party’s dedication to peace, justice, democracy, and human dignity in a statement marking International Peace Day.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, in a message released by the Media Cell Bilawal House, Bhutto Zardari stressed that peace goes beyond the mere absence of conflict, emphasizing the importance of justice, equality, and respect for human rights. He highlighted that true peace is achieved only when every individual, regardless of their background or beliefs, is treated fairly and with dignity.
Bhutto Zardari noted that Pakistan has faced numerous challenges in its pursuit of peace but has remained steadfast in its efforts to create a harmonious and prosperous society. He also acknowledged the United Nations’ theme for this year’s Peace Day, “Cultivating a Culture of Peace,” and called for global cooperation to tackle shared issues like poverty, inequality, and climate change.
In his statement, Bhutto Zardari also addressed international conflicts, warning that continued Indian actions in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and Israeli aggression in Palestine pose significant risks to global peace and stability. He concluded by urging Pakistan’s citizens to actively contribute to building a peaceful society, advocating for justice and inclusivity.
