Islamabad, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari held a media briefing at the National Assembly on Friday, addressing various national issues, including a recent terrorist attack in Karachi and matters pertaining to the opposition’s conduct in parliament.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Chairman Zardari condemned the terrorist attack targeting a vehicle carrying Japanese auto-engineers in Karachi’s Landhi area, Mansehra Colony. He expressed confidence that the attackers would be swiftly brought to justice, commending the Sindh Police and security personnel for their prompt action against the assailants.

Zardari also discussed the opposition’s uproar during Aseefa Bhutto Zardari’s oath-taking, interpreting it as a sign of intimidation. He asserted that such tactics would not deter the PPP, which has a history of overcoming challenges posed by authoritarian regimes. Reflecting on former President Asif Ali Zardari’s address to the parliament, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto highlighted the roadmap and message of unity presented to address pressing national issues. He lamented the opposition’s disinterest in constructive parliamentary engagement and stressed the importance of addressing the people’s issues over personal political gains.

Chairman Zardari criticized Imran Khan’s government policies regarding the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and counter-terrorism, emphasizing the need for a clear national security policy. He also commented on the opposition’s behavior during President Zardari’s address, which could negatively influence international diplomats’ perception of Pakistan.

Regarding climate change, Chairman Bilawal underscored the need for sustainable development and infrastructure resilient to climate impacts, a message echoed by President Zardari. He also touched upon agricultural concerns, inflation, and recent diplomatic engagements, praising the successful visit of the Saudi foreign minister and condemning PTI’s dual politics.

In conclusion, Zardari reaffirmed the need for national reconciliation and economic, judicial, and political reforms. He urged all parties to focus on alleviating public suffering and highlighted the PPP’s commitment to supporting anti-terrorism efforts, as demonstrated by the Sindh police’s recent actions.
