Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that the Bangladesh men’s cricket team will arrive in Lahore on August 13, ahead of their initial schedule, to prepare for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship matches against Pakistan.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the change from the originally planned arrival on August 17 in Islamabad to August 13 in Lahore will give the Bangladesh team extra time to acclimatize and train. The team will utilize Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium for practice from August 14 to 16, before heading to Islamabad to continue their preparations at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from August 18 to 20.
PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer expressed enthusiasm about hosting the Bangladesh team, highlighting the sportsmanship and the opportunity for the players to hone their skills at one of Pakistan’s iconic cricket venues. BCB Chief Executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury thanked the PCB for the extended training opportunity, noting it would help the team adjust better to local conditions for the test series scheduled in Rawalpindi and Karachi later in the month.
This tour marks Bangladesh’s first visit to Pakistan since 2020, setting the stage for the teams’ participation in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 hosted in Pakistan.
