Azad Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Urges Renaming of Islamabad Airport After Benazir Bhutto

Muzaffarabad: The Legislative Assembly of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has passed a resolution urging the renaming of Islamabad International Airport in honor of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. The decision was made unanimously on Monday, highlighting Bhutto’s significant contributions to Pakistan on both national and international fronts.

The resolution, introduced by the Minister for Social Welfare and Women Development, Syed Bazil Ali Naqvi, received unanimous support from the assembly members. It called for the airport to bear the name of Benazir Bhutto, recognizing her profound impact on the nation’s security, democratic processes, and constitutional supremacy.

In its text, the resolution praised Bhutto for her pivotal role in strengthening Pakistan’s defense capabilities, including her contributions to the nuclear program and missile technology.
