Imran has to go for the country to progress: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Islamabad, March 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Imran Khan is an animal and wants the law of the jungle in Pakistan. Imran Khan was imposed on Pakistan to destroy its economy, politics and foreign policy. Imran Khan will be booted out through democratic means. This was said by the Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while addressing a charged public rally in Dargai, Malakand in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that the relation between the people of Malakand district and the PPP goes back three generations.

Quaid-e-Awam established a tax free zone and if anyone tries to take this status of Malakand then the Jiyalas will chase them out. Quaid-e-Awam laid the foundation of edible oil factory and spinning mills in Malakand district. He gave the right of free passport so the people could work from abroad and help their families. Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto provided gas and electricity to the people of this area. She also provided employment, not only to the youth but also women of the area through establishing women banks and police stations.

President Zardari gave an identity to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and fulfilled the promise of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto by raising the flag of Pakistan in Swat. He made it possible for 2.5 million IDPs to return to their homes in three months with compensation while also striking out utility bills and loans. The treatment of the IDPs after our government has not been in the benefit of the country.

I have come to you once again, since we are combating a tyrant and a barbarian today. We and our Jiyalas have been facing this puppet since the first day. We called him ‘selected’ in the parliament on the very first day, and that is his identity before the world now. We will face this undemocratic person through democratic means. We will treat the umpire’s finger with the thumb by voting. I will not use any undemocratic mean to drive this puppet out.

I cannot attack any institution, nor will I go to the court in a black coat. I will not go to Gate no. 4. Quaid-e-Awam has taught us ‘all powers to the people’, and I will chase him out with the help of the people. We continuously made efforts for the opposition to be on one page. We laid the foundation for the platform for PDM while ignoring our differences to chase him out through democratic means such as the bye-elections, Senate elections and the no-confidence.

Chairman Bilawal congratulated the Jiyalas and nation on Imran Khan having lost his majority and his government ending. Imran Khan is now the ‘former prime minister’. Imran is a coward who is running from a challenge. Imran is a rat. He calls himself ‘Khan’, how is he a Khan? Khans are brave and courageous. He can only be a Khan of Funny Gala.

We have submitted the no-confidence on 8 March and voting was to take place within seven days, the session had to take place within 14 days as per the constitution. This coward first attacked the parliament lodges and the Sindh House, and has now abrogated the constitution. Now, he is trying for the Speaker to be wrapped up in Article 6.

We challenge Imran Khan to stop running away and escaping and call a session tomorrow. He should try gathering 172 members in the National Assembly. It has been three years and he has nothing better to do than criticise my Urdu as the prime minister. Urdu is our national language and we all want to learn and speak it. Various languages are spoken in this country and we respect each one. Those who speak Pashto, Sindh and Siraiki are just as Pakistani as those who speak Urdu. Imran should teach his own kids Urdu before teaching us.

The language he uses against Maulana Fazlur Rehman is not fit for a prime minister. He can only abuse and that is the sign of a defeated man. He cannot see the increase in prices of petrol and diesel during his tenure. The nation wants for the prime minister to focus on inflation which used to be a priority during PPP’s cabinet meetings while in power. He prioritizes abusive language over inflation. Imran accuses Shehbaz Sharif of polishing boots when he himself has polished to the extent that no polish is left.

Imran abuses with the same tongue that he uses to talk about Riasat-e-Madina. The state of Madinah was based on justice and morals. How can this be Riasat-e-Madina when Imran’s state is running on abuses and magic while being anti-people. The farmer and labourer are sleeping on an empty stomach in his tenure. This man has been sent to destroy Pakistan as per a scheme. It was a scheme to send this man to ruin the economic and foreign policies.

How can he come to Malakand and say that the foreign policy of India is successful while being the prime minister? If India’s foreign policy is to ruin the CPEC, this man successfully did so. If this is India’s policy, it is his policy too. He made his ministers talk negatively about the CPEC. He talks of schemes and plots while being the biggest one himself. He cannot even give an answer to the foreign-funding case. It has been proven that he obtained funds from Israel and India.

Bowing to the IMF and weakening Pakistan before the world is Imran’s conspiracy against the country. What greater foreign conspiracy is there than Imran campaigning for Modi in the Indian elections while being a prime minister? He used to say that Modi winning would benefit the Kashmir cause. ‘No compromise on Kashmir’ is every Pakistani’s slogan. Chairman PPP reassured the Pakistani nation of getting rid of this curse, Imran soon. I will come to you again.

We have been hearing him talk of corruption since a long time. Three years of the federal government have passed and eight years in KP. He refuses to answer questions about his own corruption. His father was sacked by the Quaid-e-Awam on corruption and that is why he accuses all others of corruption. He does not answer the questions raised over the billions of rupees’ worth of buildings bought by Aleema Khan. He has nothing to say about the money which is taken on posting goes in Punjab and who is benefitted. Now, he has tried to attack institutions.

He wants every institution to be like his tiger force. The people of Pakistan demand free and transparent elections. We will not let the no-confidence motion be rigged. This is a test for the federation of Pakistan and neutrality. We demand that the no-confidence should be completed constitutionally. Imran Khan has lost every bye-election and local government elections. Imran Khan has to go for the country to progress.

Lahore, March 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Pakistan Cricket Board today announced ticket prices for the three ODIs and one T20I between Pakistan and Australia, which will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore from 29 March to 5 April.

Tickets for the ODIs range from PKR500 to PKR3,000, while ticket prices for the one-off T20I have been fixed from PKR500 to PKR4,000. These prices are consistent with the PCB’s commitment of making tickets affordable for the Pakistan cricket fans.

Tickets are now available online at https://pcb.bookme.pk/ as well as from the nearest M and P Courier outlets. Payments can be made using Easypaisa/Jazzcash/creditcard/Nift options, while https://pcb.bookme.pk/ helpline number is 03137786888.

Cricket fans, upon submitting their immunisation certificates, can purchase a maximum of five tickets against one CNIC, following which the sixth ticket will be free. This incentive is for the three ODIs only.

At the time of entering the Gaddafi Stadium on match days, fans will have to show their Covid-19 immunisation certificates and valid CNICs.

Salman Mesud, PCB Head of Commercial: “Spectator convenience, entertainment and facilities have been the forefront of our fan-engagement strategy. In line with this philosophy, we have not only priced tickets that are affordable, but will also put in place additional facilities to enhance the experience of our passionate cricket fans.

“Some of these facilities include transportation of valid ticket-holders from parking areas to the enclosures through golf carts and shuttle services, provision of filtered chilled drinking water and installation of mist fans. In addition to this, we have already placed a giant screen outside the venue, which will broadcast live pictures from inside the venue.

“In the three-Test series, we have witnessed and hosted amazing fans and I remain confident that the spectators of all age groups will maintain this trend in the four limited overs matches between two highly entertaining and competitive sides that boast world-class cricketers.”

The ODIs are part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League. Top seven-placed sides from this event plus ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 hosts India will qualify directly for the pinnacle 50-over competition, which will be staged next year in October/November.

Australia are presently seventh and Pakistan ninth in the 13-team event, but a lot of 50-over cricket still needs to be played in this league.

The 50-over matches will start at 1500 local time, while the first ball in the 20-over match will be bowled at 2030 local time.

Corrupt politicians biggest hurdle in the way of achieving national objectives: Khurram Nawaz Gandapur

Lahore, March 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said that the corrupt office-holders of the political parties are the biggest hurdle in the way of achieving the national objectives for which Pakistan was established. He termed the sale and purchase of votes and the switching of loyalty as the biggest political evil.

He said that the sale of conscience is taking place before all the constitutional institutions but they remain unmoved. He said that all institutions are not only witnessing the spectacle of the fraud being committed in the name of democratic system but also making a joke of the country in the comity of nations.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that the current system is the protector of mafias, and incompetent and dishonest people. He said that it was on the 23rd of March 1940 that the demand for an Islamic welfare state was made in line with the golden principles of Islam. He however added in the same breath that a combination of corruption and incompetence has sabotaged the national agenda.

So much so that the process of violation of national interest has not ceased despite the passage of 74 years. He made it pretty clear that without changing the system of elections nothing positive will happen. He said that all political parties are trying to outcompete each other in bringing infamy to the country.

PAT Secretary General expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held in connection with the Pakistan Day here at the central secretariat of the party. The ceremony was attended by the district, provincial, and central office bearers of PAT.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that the biggest question relates to the progress and solidarity of Pakistan. He said that the way the guardians of the corrupt system trade off the national interest is very much shameful. He said these so-called national political leaders will not let the country progress and become stable. He said that on the 23rd of March, we will have to make a fresh pledge that we will work with full commitment, sincerity of purpose and complete devotion to make Pakistan a peaceful, prosperous, Islamic welfare state.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that the importance of the Day can be assessed from the fact that the 23rd of March changed the destiny of Muslims of the subcontinent, as it gave them an ideal to pursue. Brig. (r ) Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Noorullah Siddiqui, Mian Rehan Maqbool, Arif Chaudhry, Dr Sultan Mahmood Ch and others were present on the occasion.

Dunkley: Pakistan game helps us visualise the final

Dubai, March 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):England will be visualising what a final could be like when they take on Pakistan in Christchurch tomorrow, according to Surrey’s Sophia Dunkley.

Hagley Oval will host one of the semi-finals as well as the showpiece next week but will first welcome England and Pakistan for the first group game to be played in Christchurch.

Before England can attempt to reach the final, they must win their remaining two group games but can call on their knowledge of beating New Zealand on the same ground last year.

“We love it here at Christchurch,” Dunkley said. “We played here a year ago and it’s a great ground. The pitch looks nice and the nets were really good as well.

“I think being here and looking at the outfield and everything, it’d be great to be here in a week and a half’s time and it’s nice to visualise that as well. It’s definitely really good motivation for that.”

The defending champions have faced plenty of close matches during the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022, coming out on the winning side in each of their last two nail-biting encounters. Both have been must-win and the Pakistan tie is no different.

“The last two games were almost like semi-finals in themselves for us because, had we lost, it would have put us in a terrible position,” the right-hander explained.

“I think having those experiences and those feelings will be great and hopefully, we can get a couple more wins that aren’t as nerve-wracking or aren’t as close, but it is good to have that experience for sure.”

England face a Pakistan side fresh from their first World Cup victory in 13 years after defeating the West Indies by eight wickets.

And Dunkley is well aware of the threats they will pose, particularly with spin.

She said: “They played really well the other day and beat West Indies really well, so they’ve got a lot of good players in that team.

“It is a game we obviously need to win. We’re going to be looking out for them and making sure we can combat that.

“The other day against the West Indies, Pakistan’s bowling attack was really good. They have got a lot of good spin in their attack and we know that there’s going to be a lot of spin coming our way. “It’s just about playing that the best we can with the bat and putting in a good performance against them. They’ve obviously come up with a great win so it will be challenging, I’m sure.”

Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof is hoping their momentous victory will not be a one-off as her side look to produce another strong performance against the defending champions. She said: “First I felt a sigh of relief, we were under pressure and it’s good to have a win.

“We just need to get this momentum forward and we’re looking forward to the two matches, starting with tomorrow. “They are a good side, we know they have many good players who can win matches for them. “We just need to stick to our basics. We’re planning to play to our strengths and what potential we have to stay in the process and then see what the result will be tomorrow.”

Mohammed: Missing out on semis would be heart-breaking.

Dubai, March 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):After a blistering start to the tournament, West Indies have it all to do to qualify for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup semi-finals and vice-captain Anisa Mohammed has admitted missing out would be tough to take.

The Maroon Warriors won their opening two group matches but have since lost three of their last four, including the eight-wicket defeat against Pakistan last time out.

They now have to win their remaining game against South Africa in Wellington tomorrow and hope other results go their way if they are to make the last four.

“We’ve won two of the toughest games at the start of the tournament and to come and lose now would be very heartbreaking,” the off spinner said.

“Not just me, for all of the team members, but we’re really hoping that we will able to change things around tomorrow. We are still positive, we know there’s still a chance, we’re going to go hard tomorrow.

“We have found ourselves in this position, we must win tomorrow and then hope that South Africa can beat India or there can be an upset somewhere, but we can only control the things that we can control.

“Tomorrow’s game is going to be very crucial and very important for us and we have to play our best game tomorrow and win, then just sit and wait and hopefully be able to go to the semi-finals.”

The West Indies started with two dramatic victories over hosts New Zealand and defending champions England before heavy defeats against Australia and India.

They bounced back with a narrow win over Bangladesh before succumbing to Pakistan, leaving their semi-final hopes in the balance.

South Africa, on the other hand, know victory will guarantee them a spot in the last four and at least second place in the standings.

The Proteas suffered their first defeat of the competition to the all-conquering Australia but made over 250 for the first time in the tournament as they set the table-toppers 272 to win.

Captain Sune Luus said: “If you look at yesterday’s game, I think we batted brilliantly to get to 270. Obviously, they [Australia] are one of the best bowling attacks in the world as well and for our batters to match that and to get 270, I think we did a brilliant job.

“That’s just evidence to how hard the batters have been working and what we can do. It’s just about getting the bowlers to fire on the day as well.

“It didn’t happen yesterday but that’s a rare thing for our bowlers and I’m pretty sure they’ll bounce back again tomorrow.”

West Indies and South Africa are very familiar with each other having played home and away series over the last year, with South Africa coming out on top both times.

Luus added: “Obviously those series helped us a lot to prepare for the game tomorrow. We know all the players pretty well and we know what their game plan is going to be.

“It’s just best to stick to our game plans and keep doing the basics right and to make sure we are very clinical tomorrow.”
