Arts Council Pakistan Karachi Holds Photo Exhibition on Kashmir Solidarity Day

Karachi: Arts Council Pakistan Karachi organized a photo exhibition on Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5, focusing on the reported actions of Indian forces in Jammu and Kashmir. The event took place at Haseena Moin Hall, with Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, and President of Arts Council, Muhammad Ahmed Shah, inaugurating the exhibition. Numerous photographs illustrating human rights situations in Kashmir were presented, and Bashir Sadozai provided a briefing on the context and content of the images.

According to Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab expressed solidarity with Kashmiri people, affirming Pakistan's support for their right to self-determination as recognized by United Nations resolutions. He criticized the policies of the Modi administration, labeling the Kashmir issue as a humanitarian and international concern requiring resolution. President Muhammad Ahmed Shah emphasized Kashmir's importance to Pakistan and condemned violations of UN resolutions by the Indian government, acknowledging the increasing global attention on the Kashmir and Palestinian issues.

Bashir Sadozai noted that Pakistan observes Kashmir Solidarity Day annually on February 5, a practice initiated by the late Benazir Bhutto in 1990, to support the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination. He described the exhibition as a demonstration of solidarity with the Kashmiri people. The event included notable figures such as Sardar Zulfiqar Khan, Sardar Liaqat, Sardar Sagheer Advocate, Nazir Anjum, and Mohammad Asif Abbasi Advocate, representing various political and social sectors.
