Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Hosts Exhibition at 17th Aalmi Urdu Conference

Karachi: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi inaugurated an exhibition titled “Pakistan’s Master Painters from Karachi” at the Ahmed Pervez Art Gallery as part of the 17th Aalmi Urdu Conference – Jashan-e-Karachi. The exhibition, which aims to showcase the work of Karachi’s master painters, was officially opened by Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Asif Hyder Shah and President of the Arts Council, Muhammad Ahmed Shah.

According to Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, the event is a precursor to the larger 17th Aalmi Urdu Conference, which will officially commence with an inaugural session at the YMCA Ground. This conference marks a significant milestone with over 15,000 registrations and plans to cover an array of cultural topics, including Karachi’s historical landmarks, music, dance, film, theater, literature, fiction, and criticism.

Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Asif Hyder Shah emphasized the importance of the Arts Council and its role in preserving cultural heritage. He acknowledged the efforts of Muhammad Ahmed Shah in successfully organizing cultural events like the World Culture Festival and expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing Urdu Conference. In his remarks, Muhammad Ahmed Shah highlighted the importance of engaging youth in art and culture and noted that the Arts Council had established partnerships with universities across Sindh to further this mission.

The exhibition features rare artworks by prominent painters including Ahmed Pervez, Sadequain, Ismail Gulgee, and others. The event concluded with a presentation of bouquets to the Sindh Chief Secretary by Farrukh Shahab, Shahid Rassam, and Tanweer Farooqi, signifying the collaborative effort behind the exhibition and conference.
