Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Commemorates Nisar Bazmi’s Centennial

Karachi: Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi organized a grand event to mark the 100th birthday of the legendary musician Nisar Bazmi at the Haseena Moin Hall. The event witnessed the participation of prominent figures from the film and entertainment industry, including President Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Muhammad Ahmed Shah, veteran actors Mustafa Qureshi, Mutaz Begum, Hassan Jahangir, and Ustad Nafees Khan.

According to Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, the celebration began with the cutting of Nisar Bazmi’s birthday cake, followed by the launch of Tanveer Ahmed Afridi’s book titled “Kon Yaadon Ko Zanjeer Pahnaayega,” which provides a narrative of Nisar Bazmi’s life and career. President Muhammad Ahmed Shah highlighted Bazmi’s prominence in the Pakistani film industry and his longtime membership in the Arts Council. Shah remarked that Bazmi’s return to Pakistan from India was driven by his love for his homeland and described the event as a tribute to one of the century’s greatest musical talents.

Senior actor Mustafa Qureshi expressed his admiration for Bazmi, noting the enduring influence of artists like him. Qureshi emphasized the need to recognize music composers, acknowledging Bazmi’s impact on his own career. Tanveer Ahmed Afridi, the book’s author, reflected on the enduring legacy of legends like Bazmi. Amjad Shah praised Afridi’s dedication, highlighting Bazmi’s unique approach to music. Mumtaz Begum, another industry figure, expressed her respect for Bazmi, noting his lasting presence.

The event featured performances of Bazmi’s songs by various artists, including Ikhlaq Bashir, Mumtaz Begum, Nauman Khan, Hassan Jahangir, and others. The Mehboob Ashraf Band also delivered a performance, contributing to the celebration’s atmosphere.
