Ahmed Hussain Named in Pakistan U19 Squad for ACC Asia Cup

Dubai: The Men’s National Selection Committee has announced Ahmed Hussain as the replacement for Mohammad Hassan Khan in Pakistan’s U19 squad for the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup. Hassan was sidelined due to an ankle injury, prompting the inclusion of right-arm leg-spinner Hussain for the eight-team tournament.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, Ahmed Hussain is set to join the squad in Dubai on Wednesday and will participate in training at the ICC Academy Ground on Thursday. The Asian Cricket Council’s regulations have also allowed the addition of Mohammad Huzaifa as the 15th player in the squad. Previously, Huzaifa was included only in the 15-member roster for the U19 tri-series, while the Asia Cup squad was initially limited to 14 players.

Pakistan U19 will compete in Group A of the 50-over U19 Asia Cup. Their campaign begins with a match against India on 30 November, followed by matches against the UAE and Japan on 2 and 4 December, respectively, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The semi-finals are scheduled for 6 December, with the final on 8 December.

The confirmed Pakistan U19 squad for the ACC Asia Cup includes Saad Baig (captain, wicket-keeper), Abdul Subhan, Ahmed Hussain, Ali Raza, Faham-ul-Haq, Farhan Yousuf, Haroon Arshad, Mohammad Ahmed, Mohammad Huzaifa, Mohammad Riazullah, Naveed Ahmed Khan, Shahzaib Khan, Tayyab Arif, Umar Zaib, and Usman Khan. The non-traveling reserves are Rizwanullah and Yahya bin Abdul Rehman.
