Dubai: The Men’s National Selection Committee has announced Ahmed Hussain as the replacement for the injured Mohammad Hassan Khan in Pakistan’s U19 squad for the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup. The tournament, featuring eight teams, will see Hussain, a right-arm leg-spinner, join the squad in Dubai, where he will participate in training sessions ahead of their first match against India.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, Hassan, a left-arm spinner, was previously ruled out due to an ankle injury. In compliance with the Asian Cricket Council regulations, Mohammad Huzaifa has also been added as the 15th member of the squad. Previously, Huzaifa was only included in the 15-member squad for the U19 tri-series.
Pakistan U19, placed in Group A, will face India, UAE, and Japan in the group stage. Matches are scheduled to take place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals on December 6, with the final match set for December 8. The squad, led by captain and wicket-keeper Saad Baig from Karachi, includes players from various regions such as Peshawar, Lahore, and Abbottabad.
