Lahore: The women’s National Selection Committee has announced a 15-member squad for Pakistan’s Under-19 team set to compete in the ACC Women’s U19 T20 Asia Cup in Kuala Lumpur from December 15 to December 22. The team will be led by Zoofishan Ayyaz, with Komal Khan serving as vice-captain.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the selection of the squad followed a 21-day skills and fitness camp involving 32 players, which included three intra-squad matches. The squad comprises top-order batters, wicketkeeper-batters, spinners, and fast bowlers from various regions, including Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. The support staff includes a manager, coaches, an analyst, a physiotherapist, and a media manager.
Pakistan is scheduled to play its opening match against India on December 15, followed by a match against Nepal the next day. The tournament format consists of two groups, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the Super-Four Stage, culminating in the final on December 22. All matches will be held at the Bayuemas Cricket Oval, with points and net run-rate carried forward to the Super-Four Stage.
