Karachi: Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi’s Literary Committee (Shair-o-Sukhan) alongside Sakin-e-Shaher-e-Qa’id have launched renowned poet Ahmad Adil’s first poetry collection, “Aalam-e-Imkaan,” at Haseena Moin Hall. Presiding over the event was Dr. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, a respected intellectual, poet, and writer, with notable poetess Dr. Ambreen Haseeb Amber also in attendance.
According to a statement by Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, the event featured several distinguished speakers, including Khalid Moin, Ahmad Adil, Nair Rubbab, and Amna Alam, who shared insights on Adil’s work. Dr. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui emphasized that “Aalam-e-Imkaan” is a profound intellectual commentary on various aspects of life, capable of igniting a transformative experience for readers. He encouraged the sustained appreciation and protection of this artistic expression as a significant development for Urdu literature.
Khalid Moin, a poet and literary critic, recounted his initial meeting with Ahmad Adil in Bahrain, noting the cultural and intellectual depth evident in Adil’s poetry. Moin praised the unique blend of cultural elegance and societal contradictions present in Adil’s verses.
Nair Rubbab described the collection as an intellectual dialogue, highlighting Adil’s ability to engage with himself and his environment through his poetry. She admired the depth and sensitivity that distinguish his work.
Amna Alam discussed the importance of poets like Ahmad Adil in a society where superficiality often overshadows simplicity. She commended his role in promoting and preserving Urdu literature, even from abroad.
In his closing remarks, Ahmad Adil expressed gratitude to the attendees, sharing that his poetry reflects the varied possibilities of life, encompassing happiness and sorrow, hope and despair, and the coexistence of reality and dreams.
