ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday strongly condemned the firing incident targeting police personnel deployed to safeguard the polio vaccination team in Pindiali Tehsil of Mohmand District. The president expressed deep grief over the deaths of the police personnel in the attack and paid tribute to them for their duty and services to the nation.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, President Zardari stated that targeting police personnel involved in the national campaign to protect children from polio was regrettable and condemnable. He extended his condolences and sympathies to the families of the deceased and prayed for the recovery of the injured officer.

President Zardari emphasized that police personnel protecting polio teams were performing a national duty, and their sacrifices would be remembered.
