Islamabad: Secretary General of the Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP), Syed Nayyer Hussain Bukhari, has articulated the party's stance on national security, emphasizing that the complete elimination of terrorism remains its top priority, surpassing all political and other matters. He asserted that there can be no compromise on national security, and the security of Pakistan holds utmost importance for the party.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Bukhari highlighted the alarming rise in terrorism incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, urging the provincial government to implement serious and effective measures to combat the threat. He criticized the provincial government's focus on securing the release of the PTI founder instead of concentrating on counter-terrorism efforts, underscoring the need for cooperation between provincial authorities, the federal government, and national security institutions.
Bukhari commended the Balochistan government's cooperation with national security institutions and stressed that terrorism is a national challenge that requires a unified strategy involving the federal government and all provinces. He underscored the dual challenges faced by the people, including terrorism and economic hardships, calling for politicians to address public issues such as inflation, unemployment, and rising petrol prices.
He also addressed political governance, stating that Governor's Rule cannot be imposed without substantial evidence and constitutional justification, advocating for negotiations and dialogue to resolve political problems. Bukhari reiterated the party's stance that judicial matters should be resolved within the constitutional and legal framework, referencing ongoing considerations by the Federal Constitutional Court following the Supreme Court's decision.
