NAGOYA: The first day of the squash events at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 concluded with Pakistan securing three victories out of five matches, allowing them to advance to the next round. The matches took place at the Nagoya Kinjo Futo Arena.

According to Pakistan Squash Federation, the Pakistani team showed strong performances, particularly in the men's and mixed doubles categories. In the Mixed Doubles Round of 32, Muhammad Asim Khan and Mehwish Ali from Pakistan triumphed over Nepal's Bipana Bhlon and Arhant Simha with a 2-0 victory. In the men's singles, Muhammad Ashab Irfan and Noor Zaman each achieved straight-set wins against their opponents, Jason Karam from Lebanon and Van Aero Angelo Dalida from the Philippines, respectively.

However, the women's singles saw mixed results for Pakistan. Mahnoor Ali was defeated by Wai Yhann Au Yeong from Singapore, while Sana Bahadar lost in a closely fought match against Najmeh Boushehrizadeh from Iran.

The next round of matches for the Pakistani squash team is set to continue on September 24, 2026, at the same venue. The team's upcoming challenges include mixed doubles and men's singles matches, as the players aim to secure further victories in the tournament.
