University of Central Punjab and Al-Jazari Water & Sanitation Academy Sign MOU for Collaborative Initiatives

Lahore: The University of Central Punjab (UCP) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Al-Jazari Water & Sanitation Academy (AJWA) to foster collaboration and advance research in water and sanitation services. The agreement was formalized by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh of UCP and Dr. Souman Khalid, Principal of AJWA, underscoring a commitment to innovation and sustainable development in these critical sectors.

According to University of Central Punjab, the signing ceremony was attended by a delegation led by the Director General of Punjab Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), Mr. Tayyab Farid, along with key representatives from AJWA, including Dr. Souman Khalid, Hafiz Ozair Ahmad, Mr. Saif Ullah, Mr. Haris Sajjad Zaheer, Mr. Jahanzeb, and Ms. Bakhtawar Ali. UCP was represented by Prof. Dr. Hafiza Rizwana Kausar, Dean of the Faculty of Science & Technology, and Dr. Faiza Anum, Senior Officer at the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC).

During the event, Mr. Tayyab Farid emphasized WASA's ongoing efforts to enhance water and sanitation services, while Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh highlighted the significance of building robust partnerships with sectoral leaders to propel research excellence and sustainable practices. This MOU marks a strategic alliance aimed at leveraging shared expertise and resources to address water and sanitation challenges.
