Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari conferred the Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) upon Admiral Dr. Muhammad Ali, Chief of the Indonesian Navy, at a Special Investiture Ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr. This award recognizes his efforts in advancing relations between the Pakistani and Indonesian navies.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, the ceremony was attended by prominent figures including Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, members of Parliament, and the diplomatic community. The event underscored the ongoing cooperation between the two nations.
In a meeting following the ceremony, President Zardari congratulated Admiral Dr. Muhammad Ali on receiving the award. He highlighted the enduring ties between Pakistan and Indonesia and emphasized the need for enhanced naval cooperation. The President noted potential opportunities in the blue economy and maritime sector development.
The President acknowledged the Indonesian Navy's consistent involvement in exercises organized by the Pakistan Navy. Admiral Dr. Muhammad Ali was joined by the Indonesian Ambassador, Lt Gen (Ret.) Chandra W. Sukotjo, during his visit. The meeting was also attended by Senator Saleem Mandviwalla.
