Islamabad: Ambassador of France Nicolas Galey paid a farewell call on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr today. President Zardari acknowledged Ambassador Galey's efforts in enhancing the relationship between Pakistan and France and expressed optimism for the continued expansion of bilateral cooperation.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, President Zardari highlighted the longstanding friendship between the two nations and praised the ambassador's role in advancing relations after a challenging period. The President emphasized the importance of regular high-level exchanges, economic cooperation, and increased interaction between business communities in both countries.

Additionally, President Zardari extended sympathies to France regarding the recent wildfires and affirmed Pakistan's solidarity with the French government and its people. He acknowledged France's recognition of Pakistan's mediation efforts in the US-Iran conflict. Further cooperation in mutually beneficial areas and the contributions of French companies and the French Agency for Development to Pakistan's development projects were welcomed by the President.

Ambassador Galey expressed gratitude for the support he received during his tenure and reiterated his commitment to fostering ties between the two nations. He confirmed France's recognition of the State of Palestine and support for global human rights movements. Ambassador Galey also commended Pakistan's role in the US-Iran conflict, acknowledging the country's adept handling of the situation.
