LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that the National U19 Championship will commence on Tuesday, featuring 20 teams from 16 cricket regions in a highly anticipated three-day event. The National U19 Cup, a one-day tournament, will follow, starting on Saturday. The events will involve approximately 400 players, providing them with an opportunity to participate in both red-ball and white-ball formats.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the tournament will include teams from Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Sialkot, each fielding two teams. The competitions will offer a winners' prize of PKR two million, with the runners-up receiving PKR one million. These tournaments aim to give young cricketers a platform to vie for selection in the Pakistan U19 team, which is currently engaged in a series against England U19.

The 20 teams are divided into four groups, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarter-finals. The subsequent winners will move on to the semi-finals, culminating in the finals of both tournaments. The National U19 Cup final is scheduled for October 24, while the National U19 Championship final will be held from November 3 to 6, with venues to be announced later.

Live scoring for the championships will be made available online, and selected matches will be live-streamed on Tapmad and Tamasha in Pakistan. International viewers can access the live streams through the PCB's YouTube channel.
