London: The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced significant changes to its Test squad, releasing seven players following the completion of the Lord's Test. These changes come as the team prepares for the upcoming third Test against England.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the players released from the squad are Mohammad Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq, Salman Ali Agha, Ali Usman, Aamir Jamal, Muhammad Awais Zafar, and Khurram Shahzad. In their place, the board has named seven replacements, including five uncapped players at the Test level and two who have prior Test experience. The replacements consist of batters Saim Ayub and Abdullah Fazal, who have played eight and two Tests, respectively, and left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder Arafat Minhas, who has featured in three ODIs and four T20Is.

The remaining additions to the squad are left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Imran Jnr, wicketkeeper-batter Saad Baig, recognized for being the player of the tournament in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2025-26, and right-arm pace bowling all-rounders Mohammad Imran, also known as Imran Randhawa, and Razaullah. These players will join the squad as it heads to Birmingham for the next Test match.

In addition to the changes in the player lineup, the Pakistan Cricket Board has also announced adjustments to the backroom staff. Sarfaraz Ahmed and Umar Gul have been released from their roles and will be replaced by Mike Hesson and Ashley Noffke. The team for the Birmingham Test will be led by captain Babar Azam and includes a diverse mix of experienced and new talent.
