London: England all-rounder Sam Curran will miss the remainder of the home cricket season due to a groin injury requiring surgery, while fellow all-rounder Will Jacks is recovering from an appendectomy. The injuries come as England prepares for upcoming matches against Sri Lanka and ongoing Test series against Pakistan.

According to International Cricket Council, England confirmed that Curran, who recently excelled in both the T20I and ODI series against India, will be unavailable for selection as he recovers from a groin surgery. His absence is significant, especially after speculation from England selector Marcus North that Curran might fill the all-rounder role in the Test team following Ben Stokes' retirement.

Will Jacks, another key player, is currently recuperating from an operation to remove his appendix. England has announced that they will evaluate Jacks' recovery before deciding on his inclusion in the squad for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. The Sri Lanka series includes three T20Is and three ODIs, starting on September 15. Meanwhile, the England Test team is engaged in a three-match series against Pakistan, part of the ICC World Test Championship.
