SARGODHA: Henan Normal University (HNU) in China welcomed a delegation from the University of Sargodha (UoS) at the opening ceremony of the Cultural Exchange Summer Camp 2026, which was held at the Qinzheng Building of HNU. The event, titled "Meeting Henan: An Experience Journey to Learn Chinese Language and Culture," marks the start of a program designed to promote cultural understanding and language skills among Pakistani university students.
According to University of Sargodha, the ceremony featured key figures such as Zhao Yang, Dean of the School of International Education at HNU, and Chen Yunxiang, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at UoS. Additional attendees included Ma Shuming, Deputy Director of the Publicity Office of the CPC HNU Committee, and Wang Li, Deputy Director of the Office of International Programs at HNU. From UoS, Prof. Dr. Tahir Mumtaz Awan, Director of the Pakistan Institute of China Studies and Host Director of the Confucius Institute, and Hassan Raza Hashmi, Deputy Director of the Multimedia Development Center, were present alongside staff, volunteers, and participating students.
Zhao Yang extended a warm welcome to the participants, while Wang Li outlined the camp's schedule and logistics. Zhang Changhui, Deputy Dean of the School of International Education, provided guidelines and safety instructions for the visiting students. Prof. Dr. Tahir Mumtaz Awan spoke on behalf of the Pakistani delegation, and UoS student representative Ms. Mahnoor shared her insights. The ceremony also included an exchange of culturally significant souvenirs between HNU and UoS representatives, and the presentation of the summer camp flag by Ma Shuming to a participants' representative. The event concluded with a group photograph, symbolizing the commencement of a promising cultural and educational exchange between the youth of Pakistan and China.
