UVAS Completes Weeklong Capacity Building Training for Laboratory Staff

LAHORE: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in Lahore has successfully concluded a weeklong capacity building training for its laboratory staff. The event took place at the UVAS City Campus and concluded with a ceremony led by the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani, who awarded certificates to the participants.

According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the training aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of lab staff while ensuring the quality of work within the laboratories. Experts provided lectures on topics such as laboratory hazards, safety guidelines, waste management, accident reporting, protective equipment, and laboratory ethics. Participants also learned about good laboratory practices, lab arrangements, maintenance, cleaning, documentation, standard operating procedures, quality assurance, and assessment of learning outcomes.

Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani emphasized the importance of such training sessions in fostering innovative knowledge and improving the competencies of laboratory staff. The ceremony was attended by several notable figures, including Dean of Faculty Veterinary Science Prof. Dr. Kamran Ashraf, Dean of Faculty of Bio-sciences Prof. Dr. Habib-Ur-Rehman, and numerous participants.
