COMSTECH-Supported Training Program Enhances Skills of Sudanese Graduates

Wah Cantt: A two-week intensive training program for 17 engineering and computer science graduates from Sudan, organized by the University of Wah under the framework of the OIC-COMSTECH Consortium of Excellence, concluded successfully, focusing on advanced skills in Cyber Security, Data Analytics, and Cloud Computing.

According to University of Wah, the program, held from August 7 to August 20, 2026, showcased the institution's commitment to fostering international academic cooperation and capacity building among OIC member states. Participants benefited from the university's academic expertise, specialized laboratories, and modern learning facilities. During the program, graduates also visited Wah Engineering College to explore its academic and technical infrastructure.

The training concluded with a Closing and Certificate Awarding Ceremony attended by several dignitaries, including H.E. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General of OIC-COMSTECH, and senior officials from both OIC-COMSTECH and the University of Wah. Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor of UW, emphasized the significance of international academic partnerships in fostering knowledge exchange and professional development. He acknowledged the support of OIC-COMSTECH and credited the university's faculty and administration for the successful execution of the program.

This initiative marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between UW and OIC-COMSTECH, paving the way for future training sessions, joint research initiatives, and international academic opportunities. The University of Wah has also introduced fully funded Master's scholarships for students from OIC member states and is working on developing short-term fellowship opportunities. Additionally, agreements between UW and OIC-COMSTECH have been signed to offer fellowships to Yemeni and Somali citizens.

The event concluded with the distribution of certificates and shields to the graduates, symbolizing a successful step toward enhancing technical skills and promoting international academic cooperation and capacity building.
