KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Karachi General Secretary, Arslan Khalid, has accused the Sindh Government of exhibiting double standards by restricting PTI's public gatherings while allowing coalition allies greater freedom with rallies. According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Khalid criticized the collaboration between the Sindh Government, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), stating that such actions underscored a political bias against PTI, which he described as the only genuine opposition party.

Khalid questioned the legitimacy of protest rallies organized by MQM, a coalition partner of the Sindh government, suggesting these events were orchestrated to mislead the public and distract from significant issues plaguing the city. He argued that if genuine ideological differences existed, the coalition party should withdraw from the provincial government, instead of playing the victim card while enjoying governmental power.

The PTI official further criticized MQM for failing to deliver on promises to Karachi despite holding federal government positions. He pointed out that major development projects, such as the 'K-4' water initiative, have been politicized, and accused PPP and MQM of making empty promises regarding local governance.

Khalid also questioned MQM's stance, noting their support for Asif Ali Zardari's presidency and their current demands for Karachi's rights from PPP. He suggested that the Sindh government was using MQM to stage protests and disguise its own alleged mismanagement and corruption. Khalid reiterated PTI's position as the true opposition, claiming the Sindh government's restrictions on PTI activities were a response to PTI's rising popularity among the public.
