Karachi: Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) organized walks at its campuses to mark Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, with participation from students, faculty, and staff focusing on the Kashmir issue. Participants emphasized solidarity with the Kashmiri people and Pakistan's stance on the disputed region.

According to Dow University of Health Sciences, Vice Chancellor Prof. Nazli Hossain addressed the participants, stating that India's actions in Kashmir violate international law by denying the rights of the Kashmiri people. She called upon the international community to urge India to implement United Nations resolutions concerning Jammu and Kashmir. Prof. Hossain highlighted the significance of 5 August 2019, marking it as a pivotal day when India unilaterally revoked the special constitutional status of the region.

Speakers, including Prof. Dr. Uzma Bukhari, Principal of Dow International Medical College, emphasized Pakistan's long-standing advocacy for resolving the Kashmir dispute in line with the 1949 United Nations resolutions. They urged the international community to pressure India to end its occupation and allow the Kashmiri people self-determination. The event underscored Pakistan's commitment to the region, reaffirming support for the Kashmiri struggle.

The walk featured slogans and banners supporting the Kashmir cause, with participants carrying flags of Pakistan and Kashmir. The gathering aimed to emphasize Pakistan's unwavering support for the Kashmiri people and highlight 5 August as a significant day in human history.
