KARACHI: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi organized a gathering to mark the publication of novelist and poet Naina Adil's latest works, "Muqaddas Gunah" and "Kokh." The event attracted a notable assembly of writers, critics, and literary enthusiasts who engaged in discussions about contemporary Urdu fiction. Presided over by Professor Sahar Ansari, the occasion featured speeches from literary figures like Akhlaq Ahmed, Mazhar Abbas, and Dr. Inam Nadeem.

According to Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, the event included special messages from prominent poets and writers, discussing the significance of Adil's contributions to Urdu literature. Iftikhar Arif highlighted the acclaim "Muqaddas Gunah" has received, while expressing optimism about "Kokh" as a distinctive addition to the literary landscape. Professor Sahar Ansari explored the thematic depth of Adil's novels, which intertwine history, civilisation, and human psychology.

Mazhar Abbas drew parallels between "Muqaddas Gunah" and Karachi's socio-political history, commending Adil's courage in tackling complex themes. Akhlaq Ahmed praised the novel for its observational fiction and cinematic potential, despite minor errors in the first edition. Shaista Mufti and other speakers emphasized the compelling narratives and psychological depth found in Adil's works.

Naina Adil expressed gratitude for the support she received from fellow writers and dedicated her novels to her daughter and late pet, reflecting on the experiences that have shaped her as an artist.
