Vehari: In a striking development, the voter registration rate in Vehari has reached 56% of its estimated 2025 population, surpassing the national average of 54% by two percentage points. This achievement places Vehari at 43rd in voter registration rates among 136 districts nationwide and 25th within Punjab's 36 districts.

According to the Free and Fair Election Network, these statistics are derived from electoral roll data released by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on December 30, 2025. The data were cross-referenced with population estimates based on the 2023 Digital Census, applying an inter-censal annual growth rate of 2.83% to Vehari's base population. This methodology estimates Vehari's 2025 population at 3,627,330, against which the registration rates were calculated.

The district boasts 2.0 million registered voters, divided into 1.1 million males and 936,087 females, with male registration at 60% and female registration at 52%. Vehari ranks 18th out of 136 districts by population size and is represented by four Members of the National Assembly.

Vehari's above-average registration rate is attributed to the rules from Pakistan's 2023 Digital Census. This census did not enumerate household members absent for more than six months at their home address and recorded individuals at their current address instead of their origin. As a result, many permanent residents working in urban centers like Lahore were not counted in Vehari's population, though they remain registered there as voters.

Despite significant progress, female voters account for 46.1% of the registered electorate, indicating a gender gap of 7.8%. Continued efforts towards equitable female registration are deemed vital in maintaining the district's robust registration rate.
