Karachi: Fahad Ansari’s unbeaten 135, along with Taha Mehmood’s 91 and effective bowling by Asadullah Hamza, propelled Medicam Group to a 26-run win over Wing 999 in a Group “A” match of the Wing 999 Inter Departmental Cricket League at Eid Gah Ground Korangi. According to Regional Cricket Association Karachi, the tournament is organized in collaboration with Wing 999 Sports.
Medicam Group set a target of 306/4 in 40 overs, with Ansari scoring 135, including 15 fours and 2 sixes, and Mehmood contributing 91 with 6 fours and 5 sixes. Afnan Khan and Sheroze Siddiqui added 33 and 23 runs, respectively. Arif Khan was the pick of the bowlers for Wing 999, taking 2/56.
In response, Wing 999 was all out for 280 in 39.2 overs. Notable contributions included Raza Chandio’s 60, Shah Raza’s 47, Arif Khan’s 42, and Muhammad Afzal’s 41. Despite Usman Raheem’s 33 and Saim Ahmed’s 20 not out, Wing 999 fell short. Hamza’s bowling performance, with figures of 4/47, was instrumental in securing Medicam Group’s victory.
