Karachi: Ujala Khush, a student at Aga Khan University (AKU), has been making waves with her distinct approach to leadership, focusing on reliability and service over personal recognition. Raised by a single mother, Khush learned early on about resilience and responsibility, values that have shaped her journey into leadership roles throughout her academic life.

At AKU's School of Nursing and Midwifery, Khush's perspective on success evolved from personal achievement to a broader commitment to societal welfare. She describes nursing as more than a profession; for her, it represents a commitment to service, enhanced by empathy and accountability. Outside the hospital, Khush has been an active member of her community's Emergency Response Team for over eight years, underscoring her commitment to service. Balancing academics, leadership, and clinical responsibilities posed challenges, yet also revealed her potential.
