University of Haripur and Regional Blood Center Abbottabad Partner to Enhance Medical Collaboration

Abbottabad: The University of Haripur and the Regional Blood Center, Abbottabad, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing academic and clinical collaboration. The agreement was signed on December 18, 2025, by Mr. Riaz Muhammad, Registrar of the University of Haripur, and Dr. Ijaz, Medical Officer of the Regional Blood Center.

The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Sadiq Noor Khan, Chairman of the Department of Medical Lab Technology, along with Mr. Adeel Gul and Mr. Inzamam. The MoU outlines several key areas of cooperation between the two institutions.

The partnership seeks to establish a structured internship program for students of the University of Haripur, focusing on healthcare, biomedical sciences, and public health. In addition, it aims to facilitate research collaboration in transfusion medicine, enhancing both academic knowledge and practical application.

The agreement also emphasizes the promotion of voluntary blood donation to ensure a steady supply of safe blood for patients with conditions such as thalassemia, hemophilia, and cancer, as well as for major public sector hospitals in the Hazara Division.

Awareness campaigns, blood donation camps, seminars, and workshops will be conducted at the University of Haripur to educate students and faculty on the importance of blood donation and transfusion services. The MoU aims to strengthen institutional ties and foster a culture of social responsibility and healthcare awareness among students.
