Lahore: The Pakistan Electro-medical Equipment Manufacturers and Distributors Association (PEMDA) and the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) have entered into an agreement to enhance collaboration in education, training, and technical support for the electromedical industry.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Mr. Waseem Alam, Chairman of PEMDA, and Dr. Nida Iqbal, Chairperson of the Biomedical Engineering Department at UET. The signing event took place at UET’s new campus and was attended by members of PEMDA’s delegation and senior faculty from UET.
This partnership aims to provide job placement opportunities for students graduating from electromedical programs, as well as internships facilitated by PEMDA. Students and industry experts will collaborate on final year projects, focusing on innovation within the field.
The agreement also includes provisions for study visits for UET students and faculty, allowing them to observe cutting-edge technologies in the sector. Furthermore, PEMDA will enter into a separate contract with UET for the regular inspection and maintenance of non-operational electromedical equipment at the university.
This collaboration is expected to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practices, benefiting both students and the electromedical sector.
