Haripur: The University of Haripur’s Department of Linguistics and Literature recently hosted a one-day international conference centered on the themes of sustainability, peace, and mental health, explored through literary and linguistic perspectives. The event brought together approximately 300 participants, including scholars and faculty from over 17 institutions, to discuss how transformative narratives can address these pressing global concerns.
Keynote speakers included Prof. Dr. Aroosa Kanwal from Quaid e Azam University Islamabad and Prof. Dr. Esra Santesso from the University of Georgia, USA. Their lectures provided insights into how literature and linguistics can contribute to dialogue and solutions in the realms of sustainability, peace, and mental health.
The conference was attended by notable figures such as the Vice Chancellor Prof. Shafiq ur Rehman and Dean of the Faculty of Social and Administrative Sciences, Prof. Dr. Amara Gul, who emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary approaches to contemporary challenges.
The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to the presenters, marking the successful completion of discussions and sessions aimed at exploring new pathways for a more sustainable and peaceful world.
