Haripur University Commences Educator Empowerment Program

Islamabad: The University of Haripur launched a 10-day faculty development training program, “Empowering Educators: Enhancing Professionalism, Pedagogy, and Research in Higher Education,” on its campus. The training, managed by the Human Resource Development Cell (HRDC), will continue until September 5, 2025, overseen by Prof. Dr. Aziz Ullah, Dean of the Faculty of Biological and Biomedical Sciences.

The program’s inauguration was led by the university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Shafiq Ur Rehman. In his opening remarks, he stressed the significance of faculty development for educational quality and institutional advancement. He noted that ongoing professional learning strengthens instructional and research abilities and fosters a culture of innovation and continuous development among teachers.

The initial training session, “Teaching as a Profession in Higher Education,” was delivered by Prof. Zeeshan Zeb Khattak from NUST, Islamabad. He provided insights into the duties of educators, contemporary teaching methods, and the changing role of instructors in molding future leaders.

The faculty development initiative seeks to improve the skills, teaching methods, and research capabilities of university instructors, providing them with modern techniques and practices to address the complexities of higher education in the present era.
