Islamabad: The University of Haripur has inaugurated a new mosque exclusively for female students, named “Masjid Khudijat-ul-Kubra.” The institution emphasized its dedication to providing equal access to religious facilities for all students.
With women comprising approximately half of the student body, the university constructed the dedicated prayer area to allow female students a convenient and comfortable space for worship on campus.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shafiq Ur Rehman officiated the opening ceremony, attended by senior university administrators. He described the mosque as a significant advancement, highlighting the university’s commitment to providing equivalent religious resources for female students.
The university is requesting donations from charitable individuals and organizations to support the finishing and furnishing of the building. Contributions will help establish a permanent worship center for future generations. The university cited a hadith narrated by Usman bin Affan (RA), in which the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” (Bukhari and Muslim)
