Islamabad: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore conducted a farewell event for Dr. Waqar Mahmood, the outgoing Director of KICS, on August 12, 2025.
The gathering, attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, Registrar Mr. Muhammad Asif, Public Relations Officer Dr. Tanveer Qasim, Deans, faculty, and staff, celebrated Dr. Mahmood’s tenure. Attendees lauded his dedication, integrity, and hard work.
Speakers acknowledged his substantial contributions to the institution and offered well wishes for his future. Many shared personal anecdotes and memories. Vice Chancellor Munir remarked that Dr. Mahmood’s work constituted a significant period in UET’s advancement, adding that his professionalism and dedication would inspire future administrators.
In his farewell speech, Dr. Mahmood reminisced about his time at UET, sharing experiences and expressing hopes for the institution’s continued success and the nation’s prosperity. The Vice Chancellor presented Dr. Mahmood with a commemorative shield to recognize his service.
