HEC Delegation Lauds University of Sargodha’s Academic Advancements

Sargodha: A delegation from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) visited the University of Sargodha to evaluate its academic progress, infrastructure, and compliance with educational standards. The visit emphasized the University’s alignment with market needs and ongoing development projects.

During the visit, the delegation was welcomed by Dr. Imran Ghafoor, Director of the Quality Enhancement Cell. Registrar Waqar Ahmad provided an overview of the University’s academic initiatives, research outputs, and administrative frameworks.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas highlighted the University’s role in transforming the region’s educational and economic landscape. He announced that the University has achieved a prestigious position in HEC’s ‘X’ category due to the efforts of its faculty and staff.

Dr. Abbas revealed that the University has submitted 40 patents for registration this year, a significant increase compared to previous years. He also discussed the University’s commitment to sustainability, noting that it is now fully powered by a 2.6 MW solar project, enhancing its standing in sustainable energy use.

Efforts in skill development were also underscored, with the establishment of modern laboratories and incubation centers aimed at preparing students for global challenges. Dr. Abbas announced a collaborative project with China to build a hospital and boarding school on campus, marking a significant development milestone.

The HEC delegation commended the University’s strategic advancements and facilities. A senior HEC official noted the University’s alignment with modern academic standards and praised its infrastructure and quality assurance mechanisms.

The visit included tours of academic departments, research labs, and the University’s incubation center, where the delegation interacted with faculty and students. The visit concluded with the delegation recognizing the University of Sargodha as a model of academic excellence and strategic innovation.
