Pakistan and West Indies Set for T20I Series in Lauderhill

Lauderhill: Pakistan will face West Indies in a three-match T20I series starting on Thursday at the Central Broward Park and Broward County Stadium in Florida. This series marks the eighth bilateral T20I meeting between the teams since their first encounter in April 2011.

The series opens on July 31, with the subsequent matches scheduled for August 2 and 3 at the same venue. This series is their first T20I meeting since December 2021. Pakistan comes into the series with an overall record of 15 wins out of 21 T20Is against West Indies.

Both teams are aiming to improve following recent series losses, with Pakistan having lost to Bangladesh and West Indies to Australia. Pakistan’s squad includes returning players Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Salman Ali Agha, Pakistan’s T20I captain, expressed excitement about playing in Lauderhill and emphasized the mix of youth and experience in the squad. He acknowledged the challenge posed by West Indies despite their recent results.

The series will serve as preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup, with both teams keen to refine their strategies and performances. The matches are set to begin at 8 p.m. local time, with the final games of the series slated for August 2 and 3.
