University of Haripur Lauded as Model Institution as Senate Approves FY 2025-26 Budget

Haripur: The University of Haripur’s 12th Senate meeting, chaired by Provincial Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi, approved the annual budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, solidifying its status as a model institution among public universities in the region. The meeting, held on July 16, 2025, saw the approval of several key agenda items, including financial reports and strategic plans for the university’s continued development.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shafiq Ur Rehman presented the budget, highlighting the university’s financial stability and achievements in administration, academics, and research. The presentation received unanimous praise from Minister Afridi and Senate members.

Treasurer Mr. Imran Muhammad outlined the surplus budget, emphasizing the effective management of income and expenditures. The university’s financial strategy was commended by HEC Islamabad representative Mr. Naveed Shah, who recognized it as one of the few financially stable institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Minister Afridi declared the University of Haripur a model for other public universities, instructing the Higher Education Department to document its best practices for broader implementation. He also requested a presentation for the upcoming Vice Chancellors’ Conference and the development of a comprehensive module to guide other universities.

The meeting concluded with a unanimous vote of confidence in the university’s path to excellence, as well as a vote of thanks from Vice Chancellor Rehman, who expressed gratitude for the recognition and support from all participants.
