Karachi: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed deep sorrow and extended condolences following the tragic loss of lives and extensive property damage due to recent rain-related incidents across Pakistan. The affected areas include Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
A press release from the Media Cell Bilawal House highlighted the chairman’s sympathies for families who have lost loved ones in these incidents. He called for a coordinated relief effort by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in the most affected districts of Balochistan, such as Washuk, Awaran, and others.
Bilawal emphasized the need for immediate measures to support affected communities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Malakand and Mansehra. He urged both federal and provincial governments to implement precautionary measures to mitigate potential heavy rains and flooding during the monsoon season.
He also advised the public to minimize travel and adhere to safety precautions during adverse weather conditions.
Addressing climate change, Bilawal stated that the phenomenon is causing erratic weather patterns, exacerbating challenges for countries like Pakistan. He called for global action, urging the international community to translate rhetoric into action by mobilizing resources to tackle global warming and environmental degradation.
